The Haunted Zoo, Part 1-2.

The Haunted Zoo
By Paula Rennick and Tegwyn Annick

Part 1: Tegwyn Annick
There is a zoo, where monkeys tediously pick ticks and bugs from brown primeval fur. Close by sand coloured lions sleep under trees and bars viewed by eyes that: blink, tear, laugh, and shut.
The zoo is walled in by a brick circle and made penetrable with an iron gate.
On this gate there is a sign, which reads:
Leave in the evening before the night,
For when the arms reach the horizon height,
Ghosts come out to breath and feast,
In the mouth of a horrid beast.
Part 2: Paula Rennick
But here is a secret the town doesn't know.
The beast requires a sacrifice.
On the night of every new moon.
And one child who has ceased to grow.
Begins a deadly roll of the dice.
By discovering they all die at noon.
